Hey there, I’m Mariel Buckley.

What’s the best gig you’ve seen in 2022?

The War on Drugs melted my mind at the Edmonton Folk Festival this year, it was incredible.

What’s the best gig you’ve played in 2022?

First gig ever in Stockholm this fall was unexpectedly sold out, that was pretty awesome.

Where’s the best place you’ve visited?

Toss up between Glasgow and Stockholm. 

Best food you’ve eaten in 2022?

Sushi in Motala.

What’s the best thing that’s happened in music generally in 2022?

Touring got moving again!

What’s the best thing that happened to you in music in 2022?

I put out a new album in August of 2022, and have done a ton of shows in 6 provinces and 8 countries. It’s been totally nuts, and I’m ready for a nap. 

What’s your favourite song of 2022?

My fav tune this year might be ‘That River’ by Margo Cilker. It’s a year old but so friggin good.

What are your top three albums of 2022?

I was hooked on Courtney Marie Andrews’ newest, Megan Thee Stallion - Traumazine and Teddy and the Rough Riders.

What are you most proud of in 2022?

My bandmates Ryan, Luke, Kurtis and Matt for working so hard on our release runs all over the world. Their hard work was unreal!
