Emily Scott Robinson - Built On Bones

They’re women who sort of have no master, have no husbands, they might be prostitutes, they might be fortune tellers, it’s just unclear. But they’re young and they’re hot.
— Emily Scott Robinson talks about her new EP, a collection of songs from a new play of Macbeth (taken from No Depression)

Emily Scott Robinson’s Built On Bones is perfect for release on Halloween week, and an obvious choice for albums of the week. Not just because of its theme but because it’s atmospheric retelling of Macbeth is excellent. Lovely vocals from Emily and her collected friends is backed up by some spot on musicianship that brings a real atmosphere to these six tracks.
