Zuzu - Queensway Tunnel

Since Zuzu’s 2020 EP her debut full lengther has been eagerly anticipated by those of us in the know. And Queensway Tunnel doesn’t disappoint, it’s a pure pop album stacked with deft lyrics and melodic excellence. The Liverpudlian doesn’t just sing and write, she does the lot: producing, directing her own videos, and collecting vintage guitars. The best thing about her debut though is that she sings in her own accent, none of this faux American stuff for Zuzu, it’s Scouse all the way which makes her stand out from the busy pop crowd along with her songs. And she’s an Evertonian; perfect.

I think I’ve been inspired a lot by Liverpool and the people, I’ve been absorbing a lot of what’s around me. It’s very Scouse, I think.

I’m the editor-in-chief. The guy who looks after this whole damn place. And the music you see here is the kinda sounds that I’m into. They’re my questions, but not my answers.
